Police Shoot Man After Car Chase
I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem to me that the police had cause to shoot the guy when he got out of his car and started running.

He definitely was hit, bloody torso as they pulled his limp body from the brush. I imagine the argument for shooting him would be that he had already endangered the public and officers with his reckless driving and not knowing if he was armed they acted to protect other motorists. Not sure if that justifies killing him but then we don't know all the facts.

He was fleeing from a home invasion he had just done. I am not even marginally upset they killed him. I only wish it had happened before he wrecked everybody's cars. If he had surrendered, he'd be alive. His death is 100% on him. So is any grief his family may experience.PrideAndJoy54 wrote:He definitely was hit, bloody torso as they pulled his limp body from the brush. Now we know all the pertinent facts, thanks TAM. One last interesting thing, during the chase on the freeway I noticed the passenger side back window open and what looked like a bag of white substance dumped/tossed out. Assuming it was drugs, did these geniuses bring a bag of dope along to a home invasion or is that what they stole? The Annoyed Man wrote:He was fleeing from a home invasion he had just done. I don't know. I was watching the news coverage, and they said that he was fleeing from the scene of a home invasion, but there were no more details at that time.PrideAndJoy54 wrote:Now we know all the pertinent facts, thanks TAM. Re: Police Shoot Man After Car Chase
As I watched the video again, one of the police cars appears to have a bullet hole in the windshield, which means someone from the vehicle must have fired upon the police at some point.
So, the officer would have had reasonable suspicion that the suspect was armed as he fled, which would have made the shooting justified.

An' Miami, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston, Houston, Detroit, and every other Podunk town in America - - - the cops shoot perfectly innocent offenders all the time. Read the papers or watch the news they are all Eagle Scouts trying to sing in the choir at church while turning their lives around.gringo pistolero wrote:I thought that was mostly in LA and NYC.gigag04 wrote:The cops always be shootin folks for no reason
