I agree that most criminals are idiots, but this bunch looked like they had their act together (in a murderous sociopathic way).

Hopefully some armed good samaritan/s will give them a very early retirement.
Be kind to your web footed friends.

They appeared to know what they were doing. The dead guy may have seen their faces before they masked up? Otherwise, why wasn't the clerk also shot? Come to think about it, why wasn't the clerk and the camera shot?

I'm glad that I don't have to go out at night in Houston and its environs.

I don't know why they shot the first victim and not the clerk. At that point they were all guilty of capital murder.

As for the cameras, if they don't get the recording, shooting the cameras does no good. Most surveillance systems now store the video off site.

My only reasons for posting this incident were to warn about activity in this area and also add further evidence that "giving them what they want" does not guarantee survival.

Three men were arrested and charged with these crimes. One was arrested on March 31, one on April 1, and one on April 7. They were middle-aged men of Mexican ethnicity.

All were arrested based on tips submitted to Crime Stoppers.

Police are still seeking a fourth suspect.

I had forgotten about this thread. Here's another link with some more information. I know that the Crime Stoppers tips are confidential, but I would like to know who turned them in.

Jilted girlfriend or somebody else that they annoyed. People who do things like this tend to make more enemies than friends.

RPB wrote: Shame that area has gone downhill, I grew up near there way before the crowds arrived. Back when you could find horned toads and crawdads out there near the ditches which are now below the streets. When I grew up there we didn't need locks on the windows; often slept with them open so the attic fan could draw air through the house. (Before we finally got an air conditioner)........ sad.

Ditto that from a fellow native Houstonian that grew up right next to there (Westbury) in the 60's-80's. It's tragic what has happened to what was once a good area.
