Pistol Ranges Around South Austin Area?

#1

Post by Cap'n »

We're new to this area ... just south of Austin; just north of Buda on I-35. Have read old posts ... Austin Rifle Club (closed?); Red's Indoor Range.

Are there any other range choices for handguns?

We have two new pistols, 800 rounds of ammo, itchy fingers, and nowhere to shoot.

Thanks.

Here is a great link to bookmark:

But to answer your question, other than the two you mentioned:

Reds South
Austin Rifle Club

This is only other one I know of in South Austin:

Lone Star Gun Range

This one is west of New Braunfels, and north of San Antonio. A little of a drive, but nice range:

Cedar Ridge Range

HTH.

The Lone Star Gun Range is about 18 miles south of the Austin ABIA airport just off HWY 183. http://www.ctxpta.com

Stroll down Six Street at about 2:00AM Saturday morning with a $100 bill hanging out of your back pocket. This shoud satisfy your shooting needs for a while.

Red's south. Its a great little indoor range. Quite a few LEO's there on occasion. Nice folks, price is a little steep @ $14/hr.
But at least I can go there when it rains. 100yards.

Just wanted to do a quick update for those of you that are growing with us and also waiting till we grow a little before you come out. I just purchased 20 shooting benches from Hill Country Rifle Range and will be leveling and setting them up over the next few weeks. Also, for those that think Reds is a little expensive...shoot over an hour at a time...want the ability to draw from your holster...shoot more than one shot every 2 seconds...come on out and take a look at us. We are only 18 miles south of the Austin Bergstrom Airport. Cost: one time only registration fee $5...day rate per person (NOT GUN) $12 and 12 month rate per person (NOT GUN) $65. That is 12 months from the date you sign up! For those of you that are members...Thanks for your support...hope to see the rest of you soon.

Good job, Matt.

For those more on the east side... Austin Rifle Club is a good place.
