I am new and intererested as well. Are there any "mom & pop" open ranges in the area? My dad lives near Liberty, TX and for $5 a weapon, you can stay as long as you want and the rules are basically, "Don't do anything stupid". Nice place to shoot.

I have been looking for some public land that would be a non-range shooting environment, free, close by. If I remember right when I last talk to a CC sheriff deputy they said that if it is public land and you have a backstop, then you can shoot, I just don;t know where to do it legally.
Anyone have any pointers.. can PM too if you don;t want to post openly.
Thanks

Tom Bean is 80 miles from my house. Anything on the south side, maybe in the Maypearl or Venus area?
