capital area practical shooters club

I just received a newsletter from KR Training and in it was a link to capital Area Practical Shooters Club. They offer opportunities for IDPA training and competition. As I understand it, they are a club in name only and do not have their own range, but they have a couple choices close together. The ranges are closer to Austin than any other IDPA venue, I think. They are just west of Florence off of Hwy-183.

I think I saw them at the gun show, too.

If this is as good as it sounds, I may be hooking up with them. Has anyone had experience with them?

Just west of Florence? Hmmm... Maybe after this election thing I can get out there. My weekends are pretty well spoken for until mid May.

I took my CHL class from them. It's a husband/wife (John and Julieanna Crowder) team out of Leander. They even served lunch at the class.

Unfortunately, I received and email from Julieanna stating that the first session had been cancelled because the deal with the gun range fell through.

I hope they get an agreement with someone around this area. I would love to participate and learn from them.

As far as their class goes, I took it with three friends and we all enjoyed it and learned a lot. I would highly recommend them as instructors. :thumbs2:
