Long time lurker and first time poster here. I've only had my CHL for a few months.

That's great news Mac. We live in Katy so you're not next door to us, but you are close enough for regular visits. It sounds like it's going to be a great place to go shoot and learn.
Thanx!

Just to let youall know, Mac is serious!
I went by his place this morning. The front door was open, so I walked in. There he was back in a little office. I introduced myself, he gave me a Dr. Pepper and the grand tour of the place. And, we visited for a while. Looks like it will be a great place to shoot!

Mac,
Saw your replies on the “Shooting Range section as well. From all that you have indicated, my close proximity to you along with me being a fairly new CHL and wanting my wife to get some exposure to shooting, I feel a good fit is in the making. I know it is a bit early in your opening/building situation, but will you accept memberships?

No plans for a membership yet, but not a bad idea at all!

308Nato and OverEasy are a couple of great guys. It was a pleasure meeting you both.

Mac Truck, I'm a noob myself, in fact, looking at post count I'm newer than you. But I wanted to say thanks for the heads up on your new venture. I live about 40 miles south of you but I believe that there is no such thing as too many places to shoot.

I'm impressed with some of the features you have already describe and can't wait to come and check it all out. Perhaps I overlooked it but I don't recall seeing an estimated opening date.

It occurs to me that your place might just be a nice spot for some of us to meet up and pop a few paper bad guys.

Lookin' forward to a new place to shoot and shake a few hands.

Just to lump on the praise, I finally got a chance to stop by their location this morning and spent quite a bit of time talking to Mac over a Dr Pepper. I'm quite impressed with the layout they have so far, and think that this will be THE premier range in Houston once it's open.

Definitely looking forward to opening day, and I plan on being a regular visitor!

To recap previous conversations, each lane is cinder block seperated, they have great plans for airflow and sound supression, and seem to of thought the place out very well. They've still got a way to go before it's complete, but it's shaping up very nicely so far! They've got a couple of other features planned that I've not seen in other local ranges as well...

Velocity! It was great talking to you today, man! If any of you guys don't know Velocity, (Hawkes on GlockTalk), this guy is a virtual technology wizard. Microsoft GURU, and great listener. He even had some great marital advice for me that he shared by learning from similar experience. That alone was worth some discounted range-time!

So far, I've had the pleasure of meeting several fellas off this forum, and have yet to come across a single one that wasn't anything less than a stellar human being. You guys are ALWAYS welcome!

Remember, this is our first venture into the firearm industry, so we WELCOME any comments or suggestions, that's part of the logic for having an open door policy during the build-out. Don't be shy, and let 'em fly!

Outstanding! I live near Hooks airport in Tomball, and find myself driving to Conroe to shoot. Having what sounds to be a great range so close is going to be outstanding.

I'm currently working about 14hrs a day 6 days a week, but I'm definitely gonna find time to stop by and check it out.

I happened to drop by the range yesterday afternoon and spoke to Jeff. He told me the target opening day is 9/1. He also gave me a quick tour of the place. I am looking forward to opening day

A new indoor range? Halfway between me and my shooting pal? I can't wait.
Hear that JLaw, Dws? While Champions area is a challenge from the Woodlands area I will be happy to come shoot and visit over there.

:cheers2:
Welcome Mac. Sorry I'm a little late to the party. I just today found this thread. As Mr. Diode said sounds like it may be a good place for us to shoot. Couple of questions. First, do you have any idea of you range fees yet? Are you going to be one of those ranges that charge by the hour? What are your hours going to be? We like to shoot early.
