Why does it seem like 1 in 4 gun ranges are full of jerks?

Anyone got an idea about this?
It seems like 1 out of every 4 gun ranges in Texas is run by jerks.

Are WE the problem? Are they the problem? Is it alittle of both.

I'd say that's a good number since well over 25% of the general public is obnoxious.

I've felt that too. I'm new to the gun scene and some shop employees give me the cold shoulder. Granted, most of the time I spend in gun shops I'm window shopping, but I don't think that's a valid excuse to ignore the customer.

On the other hand I did have an excellent experience at Operator's Edge today though. Just bought my upper receiver assembly there and they're ordering it just for me, they were very helpful.

Yep, I know what your talking about. The range here in town is run by jerks. My wife and her sister won't go in the place, whether I'm going or not. If they want to shoot, we head for DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird in Dallas. Nice place with good people running the place.

And 75% of statistics are wrong.

Haven't met a "turkey' at PCS. I think it's because PCS is a pain to join, intentionally.

Have met some great people, including Mr. Cotton.

On the positive side, you're fortunate you get along with the management and staff at 3/4 of the ranges.

I just moved downtown and been thinking about making this my new home. Glad to hear they aren't so bad. I haven't gone yet because I haven't been in the mood to deal with gun-range-attitude. Guess I could have found out sooner.

Out of curiousity, which range are you talking about?

In my experience DFW Gun Range is frequented by ya-hoos who don't mind pointing guns at each other, and who don't know how to keep their fingers off their triggers. And I've found one of the young guys behind the counter to be extremely smug. And the older guy, who may run the place, has been known to wave his shotgun around pointing it at customers. Other than that, it is a fine place to go. :confused5

I guess my trips there have been more pleasant than you described.
