Hello all. New member in Arlington here.
After letting my CHL expire in '04 because I was an idiot I have decided to get one again. I am looking to attend a CHL class at DFW Gun Range in Dallas and was curious as to your opinions on the instructors and such before I go. Has anyone here gone through them? Thanks.

What gun(s) do you own, and what will you carry when your
plastic arrives?

Thanks! Right now all I have is my trusty Kel-Tec P11. I'm looking into getting a new gun for carry before my plastic arrives.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:iKonixx:

I really want XD45 but I'm not too sure I can afford it right now. I saw a Taurus PT-24/7 in .45 the other day and held it for a while. I like the way the Taurus feels but not nearly as much as the XD. My short fingers are a pain!

I took my CHL renewal at DFW Gun Range. Nice guys. The staff seems to be more customer friendly than some other local ranges, and it is possible to get in some range time without huge crowds.

Re: DFW Gun Range
Just completed my last TX CHL Renewal at DFW Gun Range on 16 April 2009. Instructor was Jeffrey Barnard (and his father, Calvin, still teaches there and was my instructor in 2004.) Expedite your CHL renewal by getting your online application/fee at the Texas Department of Public Safety site. DFW Gun provides all you need for the CHL but there is still the portion EVERYONE is required to complete with the TX DPS.iKonixx wrote:Hello all. New member in Arlington here.
