Took a long lunch and went to the range today. Had one of the gunsmiths give the XDM a quick check
because of the extended mag fitting tight. Just like you all said it's just a normal tight fit.

Locked the slide back, put the extended mag in (w/19 rounds) and released the slide forward. Fired about 100 rounds total
and there were no problems with the mags. The recoil was controllable much like my 92FS Compact and not a problem.
Comfortable (with pearce grip ext on 13rd mag) to hold and trigger pull seemed smooth and not a long pull.

I used WWB FMJ 115 and some Rem JHP 115. I did notice quite a bit of muzzle flash when using the Rem.
I'll try some Federal and Monarch next time and see how it goes.

I was afraid of shooting it after having to force the mag in that hard. Maybe something would get jammed on the first shot.
Didn't get to the range today....most likely tomorrow where I can get it checked out while there.

When my XDm was brand new, it resisted having the full magazine seated if the slide was in battery so I just seated it with the slide back and then pulled the slide release.
Without the slide back, the solution was I just didn't put in the last bullet at first. After about 100 rounds fired at the range, it had loosened up enough to allow the final round to be in place while seating the magazine with the slide in battery. It may just be new and needs the same "break in". I've never had a failure of any kind with it no matter what ammo I use. Hope this helps.
I tried to place it in with the slide locked back and it goes in fine that way....Thank you for the suggestion.
So like you said it just needs to be broke in? I wonder what exactly needs to be "loosened up"?

New XDM 9mm compact Mag issue......

I recently bought a new XDM 9mm compact (XDM9389CBHC) but haven't been to the range yet.
This gun comes with 2 mags; a 13 round and a 19 round extended mag.

The problem is after filling the 19 round extended mag with Rem 115 JHP
it wouldn't go all the way into the gun. Maybe I could have banged
the mag pretty hard to force it in there but it shouldn't be like that.

Anyways I thought at first I had put too many rounds in but the count was 19
so I took one out (18 rounds) and it went in normally.

I casually mentioned this on the XDTALK forum and someone else said they had the same issue
but no resolve yet. Maybe someone here has the same experience.......

I'm pretty new to this gun so hopefully I didn't mess it up.

I might give SA a call Monday if we don't figure it out.
