Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
As my first run in with the law I would recomend ALWAYS get a laywer, even for something as minor as a Class C DOC-language ticket. She new exactly what to say and how to say it. I would never have had this dismissed without her help. The ADA didn't want to listen but the lawyer keeped at him until...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
UPDATE
Just had the meeting between my lawyer and a Fort Bend Co ADA yesterday. Yes, it took Fort Bend County over 3 months to schedule it. After a 5 minute conversation between the ADA and my lawyer, the ticket was dismissed.
So its over and done!!

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
I'm still interested in the fact that the security guard blocked you in... which prevented you from leaving. If you felt you were held against your will, then I would file suit. I had a similar incident at a school in 2005 but the security guard calmed down and understood when I said I was there fo...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
Also see if the false imprisonment you felt you received is sue worthy. While you are at it see if you can sue your wife for giving you the bad advice on where to park. :smash: Or better yet divorce her and take half her stuff well, based on what we make, I make more than twice what a teacher does,...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
Dude...your lawyer should be able to help you out here. That's wierd that the ticket got written...DOC - Language is like a problem solving law for me. If I'm trying to serve a warrant and suspects brother is making a scene and getting in the way and cussing, we'll warn him to calm him down, and th...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
In general, complaints are often filed by a police officer who writes the offender a ticket. The offender may also be arrested. However, if the officer(s) did not see the offense they will not file the complaint themselves. In that case, the burden falls onto the person who witnessed the disorderly...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
Capt - did you see our post... The ticket isn't a good ticket. Unless I'm missing something. I would ask to speak to the judge, as in make an appointment and bring this fact up. Also - have a good attorney and listen to him before me because I issue tickets not dismiss them, so I'm less knowledgeab...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
plus, what I was also upset about was his behavior. I am not sure about this, but does a security guard have the right to ask for ID? Does he have the right to block my car and not let me leave, basically detaining me? I felt this was overstepping the authority of a security guard who was in no way...

I would fight it as calling that guy a ....... it's not even close to matching this § 42.01. DISORDERLY CONDUCT. (a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly: (1) uses abusive, indecent, profane, or vulgar language in a public place, and the language by its very utterance tends ...

Re: Disorderly Conduct ticket
Here is the story: The CHL was never brought into the picture at all. Basically I had the day off and was dropping lunch off to my wife who is a teacher at her school. I never bring any firearms anywhere near her school when I go to see her so I had no weapons of any type with me or in my car or any...
