Re: Felons: The new protected class for Obama's EEOC
When did felony status become a race??? The feds position is African-Americans are convicted of felonies at a far higher rate than Caucasians, so if a company will not hire felons they will reject a higher percentage of African-Americans. Of course, if African-Americans have a greater probability o...

Re: HB 1009
Interesting. This is the first I've herd of this. I don't really see the need for it here. In San Antonio most of the school districts have their own Police Dept's. I'm not sure if they are staffed well enough but they ought to be. I dont know if the specific PD's for school districts exist in the r...

Re: TX Lt Governor to Obama - "Come and take it"
[quote="A-R"Wondering"] if this is Dewhurst's "move to the right" that failed to do adequately against Ted Cruz in US Senate primary? No, it isn't. Dewhurst has done a lot for Texas gun owners, most of it unseen, because this is the nature of running the Senate. Chas.[/quot...

That Mayor sounds like a stand up guy. If we could have more politicians like him.

Re: open carry bill filed
There are already many instances where open carry in Texas is legal. Ok. I'll bite. Other than 1) on your own property or property you control, 2) as a CSO or PPO in the performance of or on your way to/from duty, and 3) long guns (and I assume we are talking about handguns here), where can you ope...

Re: Time to keep our elected federal officials in check
I think your heart is in the right place but the execution is all wrong. From a simpleton's standpoint ( me being a simpleton) you suggest proposing more legislation to solve the problem of excessive legislation. If you ask me as a society we need to get back to the constitution and stop making laws...

I did comment on exactly that when I wrote my reps recently anygun. The truth is we are in between a rock and a hard place with this one. I cant say I know what to do about it but I'm sick and tired of it.

Gun Control Distraction
Since all of the gun control legislation and obama/biden/fienstien ban proposals and demonizing American gun owners it seems as everyone has conveniently forgotten about the financial and taxation crisis in this country. In my opinion I think this is just a win win for obama. He screams gun control ...

Re: Feinstein Gun Control Bill to Exempt Government Official
And what makes retired police special? Enemies. Police can often be the targets of bad guys who've done a stretch and are looking for revenge. A copy can put away a bad guy his first day on the force and end up having to deal with him again after he's retired. I absolutely agree. The thing is about...

Re: open carry bill filed
I used to live in AZ and saw folks open carrying in Phoenix city limits. Not on a daily basis or anything but often enough. The most frequent were motorcycle riders. This needs to pass, and in my opinion it should be permit less to give folks that dont want to shell out the dollars for a CHL self de...

So according to all this legislation these geniuses are proposing I have to be a police officer to have any rights? Is SAPD hiring?
