The problem with this type of thinking is that there is always a scenario you can imagine, for any given situation, where it turns out bad for you. Just because there is some remote possibility the Michael Bloomberg, or his twin, will by a company...I mean, come on. That is like saying you should not carry concealed because you might get stopped by a cop who is going to glimpse your gun and then blow you away because he got nervous. The OP suggested a change in policy, and the company is willing to comply. They simply seem to be saying that if he intends to carry, they want proof he is one of the "licensed ones". I would not have any heartburn about it.
