Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
Who is this senator lying about 3 1/2 percent of Texans are gum owners? 3.5% of Texans are LTC holders. I don't think he was talking about total gun owners Even that statement is incorrect. Per DPS at the end of 2020 there were 1,626,242 Active LTC holders. Per the 2020 Census there were 29,183,290...

Re: Rodeo grounds
So am I understanding this right, The HLS&R is a private owned company. BUT the NRG grounds is county owned. Therefore their 30.06/07 signs are invalid? But the off duty cops who work as security will tell you its against the law to carry? They didn't say it was against the law to carry. They s...

Re: Rodeo grounds
I thought Houston had metal detectors and wands at the gates and wouldn’t let you enter the grounds with a firearm. Like I said, the property is owned or leased by a governmental entity, so real peace officers don't enforce 30.06 on the property, but thugs do. This is the first year since 06/07 sig...

Re: The Bigotry of gun controllers
As an aside, I know one of the permit holders in California. His CCW is the most ridiculous looking thing I've ever seen. It's literally a typewritten, laminated sheet of paper cut with scissors. It looks like a six year old made it. No wait, that's impossible. Six year olds wouldn't know how to us...

One of the stories had this quote from Rep. Mo Brooks.
That should certainly set up a conversation."We had nothing but baseball bats to fight back against a rifle with,"

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
Just ordered this one and a USB programming cable. The description says it has an "improved" antenna, so I didn't order another one until I get an idea how well this one that comes with it works. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MAULSOK?ref%5F=oh%5Faui%5Fdetailpage%5Fo01%5Fs00&red...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?
I recently passed my technician exam and barely missed passing extra. I mainly used two sites and an android app for studying. I found this one the best for my learning style: https://hamstudy.org/tech2014 Being able to track trends and identify areas where I needed to put in a little more work help...

Re: Can 560 be resurrected?
The Governor could add anything to a special session. I can't recall any sessions recently where a gun bill was part of the governor's agenda.

Re: Bills Still Alive as of the evening of 5/23
I got an email from the SREC reporting on legislative deadlines and certain bills. The following gun-related bills are said still to be a priority. But they don't say the ones in House Calendars have a realistic chance. The email seems to be a way to make us think they're on top of things. SB 16 Ni...

Re: Krogers signage question
So I went to my local Kroger today and they have posted a sign that states the government code chapter 411. I am curious why they need that sign up? It's probably a simple answer that I know but can't remember, it just got posted recently. Was it the sign below? TABC was issuing that sign for a sho...

The state charges should be dropped if everything with her LTC is in order. She will likely get a civil fine from TSA in the $2k-10k range.

Re: 2017 Houston Rodeo
As long as your're not going to the "sporting event", carry. At the Fannin entrance, avoid the metal detectors with the helpful but misguided volunteers, and go find the cops that are usually in the golf cart near the vehicle entrance. "Hi sir, I will not be entering the sporting eve...

Re: 2017 Houston Rodeo
Went last night. Both 30.06 and 30.07 posted at ticket booths. San Antonio was the same way. I just carried on. No wanding or pat downs there. They're wanding in Houston, but doing a poor job. Their "security" team never wands feet/boots from what I've seen. I stuck mine in my boot and us...
