The big difference is an Anti-RKBA governor would veto pro gun bills. Perry will usually sign them or let them pass unmolested. That's a far cry from actively supporting gun owners' civil rights, but it's also far better than having Jerry Brown or Andrew Cuomo in that seat.
That still doesn't mean I'll vote for him for any office ever again if a HB3218 equivalent isn't on his call.
