Texsquatch wrote:I've looked at the official site and I cannot find the info to email doc. Can you point me in the right direction? I'm getting fingerprints on Tuesday, and was going to drop off paperwork at DPS dropbox, but would rather email attachments if possible. I'd like to take advantage of an electronic papertrail.
Go here: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Select Concealed Handgun from the drop down and New Application from the my question concerns drop down. Then fill out all the required fields. At the bottom, there is a section to upload docs.

You are correct, emailing would not affect the speed of BG check, but shaving a week or so off the overall time to receive plastic can only be a good thing and gets another brother or sister CC'ing that much quicker! :anamatedbanana

Re: Email is the way to go!!

My wife completed her class on Saturday, June 22 and we uploaded her docs via email that evening. Received email from DPS the following Monday that docs were rec'd and forwarded for processing. Website updated on Sat 29th that all docs received and BG under review. If all goes well, I would anticipate plastic in hand in 30 days or less.

Electronic transmission of documents is definitely the way to go, cuts 7-10 days out of the process. :fire
