Well, I thought my background check would have gone green by now, but no such luck. I've tried calling DPS a couple times this week, but wasn't able to stay on hold long enough to get through. Funny thing is, I figured there would be no problem getting the license before a vacation/trip to Florida next month, but now it seems unlikely. I went ahead and called a Florida regional office where you can schedule an appointment to submit for a CW/F license and got right through. I made an appointment and will apply for the FL CW/F license when I get to Florida. The wait time when making an appointment is supposed to only be a couple weeks, so I might even have the FL license in hand before I drive back home.

I did FAST prints on Feb. 11th (& online app a few days before). There may be a chance that the DPS works in a similar fashion....?
The CHL class I was going to take (recommended by my neighbor) was full for two weekends in a row (February rush), so I went across town to a different class the following weekend. That instructor ended up splitting the class over two days (was advertised as one day). I had a business trip and wasn't able to finish the class for over a week. I was

. Yeah, mine is processing a bit slower too. I'm not sure if Rayman and Bigmoney work and live in the same counties, but I don't. I assumed it would take longer for my background check since there are two counties involved (& I have a fairly common name).
Also, it looks like they're both in the Houston area. Maybe Harris and Montgomery counties are faster than ours.

I'm hoping it's actually in process and the online status is just really lagging - will probably call in another week if nothing changes...

Welcome fellow waiters (or waitees?)! It's now been three weeks since I sent in my checklist and other required documentation. Still no update to the online status, which was expected based on others reporting their recent wait times. I even managed to go a couple days (weekend) without checking.
I'm not aware of a place to see applicants by month, but I'd wager February was well above average.

Well, I'm at two weeks from when I sent in my checklist items and no online status update yet. I'd like to know exactly how long it took to update. So, I'll keep checking every day...hopefully there's not too much impact from a large number of late February applicants.

It generally takes 2 weeks + to show your status.
And if you haven't been watching others from previous months, it does seem that the website is behind reality, some have said that they have received their licenses before it showed Mailed.
Now I know not to keep checking to see if the status has changed.
For me, it's more about making sure the process goes smoothly and less about being impatient...yeah, that's it.
