My front door has a frosted glass window on it covered by wrought iron design, also I have a clear side window that I can see out of. My rear door has a clear glass window covered by a mini blind. I can easily see out through the side of the blind.

I can see well enough out both to determine friend or foe.

I guess it all depends on how much you want to unnecessarily endanger your self and family before responding to a verified threat.

I was asleep at the time but awoke to my back door being kicked in, by the time was able to respond the intruder was gone, kicked the door and fled.
