I am now a happy camper.

That's good news. I just didn't want to pay the extra money. I will probably do it that way if the new one never shows up.

Re: Ok I am flustrated. who should I call

I finally called the DPS to issue a new license since the 30 day waiting period is up. The guy on the phone didn’t hesitate to issue me a new one, but said it may be another 2-3 week until I receive it. This is getting pretty frustrating. Wait 30 days only to wait about another 30 days--then another 30 days. :banghead: I can only hope it makes it to my box this time.

Well, I never did receive a response to my e-mail. I am not really all that surprised. My girlfriend also sent an e-mail (different issue) that was never responded to. However, she did finally call in and said they were courteous on the phone. Her issues has been resolved.

I am just going to wait for the 30 days to be up and then give them a call. From what I have been reading on the forum, there really isn’t anything that can be done until then.

Just out of curiosity, how long has it been since you mailed your application until today?

It has been 39 days since I mailed the packet. I wouldn't be all that concerned if the license wasn't marked as mailed 17 days ago. Since most people get theirs within a few days, I am sure something is wrong. I just want to take care of the problem, or have someone give me an acceptable course of action.

Re: Ok I am flustrated. who should I call

I wouldn't say his response is utterly unfounded. I am sure the department has made many positive changes over the years, but it should not have been so bad in the first place. The people in charge probably care about what is going on, but I am sure there are some people on the front lines that are not making any real effort to help some of us. In addition, they need to be able to better explain delays rather than giving a generic response (i.e. wait another 30 days) that does not necessarily address the problem. This just gives them a reason to sit on a potential problem in lieu of addressing it.

For example, if my application was mailed on the same day as another forum member, and he got his 10 business ago--yet I am still waiting, there is either an inconsistency with the system, the application was lost in the mail, or some other unknown variable going on. I think the DPS should at least offer a reasonable explanation on why this is happening, rather than just telling us to wait longer after being on hold for 45 minutes.

Re: Ok I am flustrated. who should I call

Typical government employee. I am at 10 business days since my license was "mailed" and I have not received it yet.
