SB 772 - Relating to evidence in certain civil actions of a person's failure to forbid handguns on certain property. This is something that has been wanted for a while I believe. HB 1791 - Relating to the carrying of handguns by license holders on property owned or leased by a governmental entity. T...

Re: HB 3231 - County and City Regulations relating to Firearms etc.
The biggest thing is it seems to create a private cause of action, whereas now the law has no teeth. Secondarily, it seems to just be more specific so that violations seem more deliberate rather than inadvertent.

Does this apply to 30.06/07, or something different? I.e. Should it be added to the bills list?Charles L. Cotton wrote:This bill wouldn't hep Holcomb. It creates a private cause of action to force officials to follow the law. It's a very good bill.

Any bills to add 30.07 to 411.209?
Open carry was passed too late last session to have 30.07 added. Are there any bills so far addressing this?

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs
I have a question and please excuse me if this was answered elsewhere. Hospitals are statutorily off limits due to PC §46.035(b)(4), if they post a 30.06 sign per subsection (i). Does this mean a county hospital can legally post a 30.06 sign even though it is owned by a government entity? Yes. Any ...

SB 273-like bill for State preemption of firearms and knives?
Any chance something like this might happen? There needs to be an enforcement mechanism I think.

I think we need an SB 273-like bill for state weapon preemption. We need an enforcement mechanism.

Re: Knives past government metal detectors
Ashamedly, I'm ignorant of this new law. What about it makes it illegal for a courthouse to ban otherwise legal knives inside the courthouse? It adds state preemption of knife laws. Similar to the preemption for gun laws, it means that local governments cannot create knife laws that are more strict...
