Re: Division of Colt moving to Texas

Right now, I'm happy to see anyone leave the Northeast. If they're going to let politicians dictate to them, they have means to protest it. I only wish there were some way these companies could help with moving their employees as well as their operations. They will find out rather quickly that life ...

Re: Small carry gun Shield, LC 9, or a small Sig

:iagree:

Think about a Kahr CM9 in a Desantis holster for pocket carry. Very small, great trigger and just keeps getting better. And its price point is just above the LC9. But not prohibitive for a small 9mm.

Re: Spare magazine wearing out my pockets

I've seen this line of holsters and mag pouches on Amazon and looked up their website. Never had one in my hand, so I couldn't tell you what they're like. http://www.sneakypeteholsters.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Their mouse gun holsters look nice (leather), but mig...

Re: Best way to carry in hospital scrubs

I wear scrubs all day. To make matters worse, they are like a reddish, purplish, pink color that still draws a dirty look from my father-in-law every time he sees me in them. But I'm sure the hospital I work at got them for practically nothing and I don't have to pay for them myself. I see people wa...

Re: Have you ever actually drawn your CHL Weopon in self def

I had just gotten a job in Longview, TX and was looking for a place to live. On my first night in town, my GF and I stayed at a Holiday Inn along I-20, not realizing it was not a nice part of town. We were trying to settle into the room. Trying, because a group of VERY loud folks were making a lot o...

Re: Houston - who carries Kahr locally?

High Calibre is having their gun show in Conroe at the Lone Star Convention Center this weekend. $7 entrance and free parking. Then in Pasadena at their convention center for $8 and free parking on the weekend of Oct. 6 & 7. You can pretty much find whatever you need for a decent price at those ...

Re: How do you feel about buying from Gun Shows?

I'm a big fan of the Pasadena show. No parking fees, and I make up the $8 entrance fee in most anything I pick up. Most recently, my Dad walked away with a Walther PK380 for $30 cheaper than the Academy price and, if I had the money sitting around doing nothing, I was tempted to get a Ruger LC9 for ...

RHenriksen and VMI77,

You guys both bring something important to the table. Very well thought-out analysis. Thanks for your input on this. Stuff we all need to hear.

Re: Carrying a gun in Israel

Since WWII--a relatively short period, historically speaking--we've seen societies previously imbued in firearm culture turn into capitulating, defenseless drones. Think Canada, Australia, England. I'm going to go even further back and say that this phenomenon has been prevalent since WWI. I honest...

Re: my gf and her outlook on guns

I take the gun in my right hand, CAREFULLY put my hand on top of the slide, you have to find just the right position, so that it won't be pinched, grip the slide, then push the gun with the right hand. That was exactly how I would recommend it for weak lefties. You basically hold the gun in your ri...

You might as well have it unloaded, in your glovebox, in your car. Or in a safe in your closet.

Re: need some Kahr PM9/CM9 opinions

The optional black finished slide on the PM9 is stainless steel. It merely has a black melonite type finish on it. (Ditto the M&P series pistols.) The basic PM9 has a "unfinished" SS slide, but still has the fancier machining of the all black gun. Thanks TAM. As always, you're always ...

Re: My worst investment..

I've never heard anyone say a bad word about a P89 or P95. It belongs in the car, not the collection. It won't be one you'll be showing to your friends on a velvet pillow in the case. It'll be the one you need, when you need it. My FIL had a P89 that had never been fired and he just gave it away to ...

Re: need some Kahr PM9/CM9 opinions

Has anyone heard of any plans by Kahr to come out with a matte black finish slide for the CM9? I know the SS slides tend to hold up better, but I don't really like anything shiny on my weapons. Just a personal preference. What are the odds, since the two are so identical, of being able to put a PM9 ...
