I did know that about the "necessary items" may have to look around and see if I can find an FFL buddy or just wait until I gather more cash and buy new(or used) at the local gun store......thanks for the help everyonebrandrum wrote:you can order everything else from them except ammo online though.ZeeMan wrote:even more of a bummer, they had some decent items in the catalog I downloaded too......brandrum wrote:they only sell firearms to ffl holders.ZeeMan wrote:it would be real awesome if I could take the 90minute drive north and pick up from them rather than getting an ffl here in town to ship toCharles L. Re: Introduce yourself
Was looking at the XDm in 9MM to begin with, it has been a few years since I have handled or fired handguns and with ammo prices the way they are I would prefer to stay in that caliber. I have no opinion on Taurus as I have never fird one, only handled them in gun shops. Shortly after posting this I saw Academy's new ad for this week and noticed the 609 price cut to 329, could possibly be an option. Thank you so much for your help.firefighter3217 wrote: Well, lets start with the basics: Do you have a caliber preference?
Not sure what your opinion of Taurus is, but I have heard a lot of great things about the PT-709 slim. Easily concealable, 9mm ammo is cheap at the range and can get the job done... If you're looking for something like a .45, and don't mind Taurus, the PT-145 does that. Having shot one (1 magazine at the range-- I asked the guy next to me if I could shoot it), it tries to jump out of your hand, but I'm sure with practice it isn't bad...
Other than that, there's always the Bersa .380...
Sometimes the SigPro 2022 can be found for $399 or so... might be worth a look...
And that said, I'm out of ideas without looking at a gun store's shelf...
