Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

I tip my hat to those early on who said wait. Much of what media said was either totally incorrect or twisted slightly to misrepresent. Bravo to the forum vets! :tiphat:

Ooops! You reversed the installation instructions. It is supposed to go above the bed and through the roof, like mine.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

Can we roll that into the OWS movement and maybe get some vampires and zombies in there. Then we would have a real "made for tv" event.

This is starting to feel like the OJ trial. #1 or #2, take your pick.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

Guys,

I wouldn't know MotherJones from FatherTime, but I do know that I am liking this incident less and less by the hour, and I didn't even know that was possible.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

Whither this guy was legally right or wrong, I hope all of you at least realize that he made some bad choices which have now brought national attention and have the potential to damage each of us who lawfully carries and does not make bad decisions.

All who carry have a responsibility to others who carry, who also have the responsibility. The right to carry was hard-won with a cost to many who fought the battle before us, and to us who have to protect it for the future. I will not have good feelings for any of our fellowship who callously or carelessly endangers the right to carry.

I may end up defending them from a legal standpoint, but I will not be made to feel good about it.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

From a federal civil rights point of view, did Zimmerman illegally detain the young man and then deprive him of his right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness since the young man had committed no crime which justified him being hunted and pursued?

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

She has suspicions, yes, but her last statements on a person having to prove they are not guilty hurt her position in my opinion. I hope we are still innocent until proven guilty in this country.

Respectfully, this is a long way from being called murder, and it could easily end up being self-defense. There are still too many gaps in what we know.

I think it is a good thing that there will be more investigations. Perhaps then there can be some closure on this matter.

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

After listening to the tapes, all I can say is wow! Would the neighborhood watch man be mournfully screaming for help then screaming in absolute fear of death, a scream that was silenced by a gunshot? That is one thing that puzzles me.

And who was wearing a white t-shirt? One of the callers said they witnessed an individual on top who wearing a white t-shirt. Does anyone else know who was wearing what?

I don't have a good feeling about this incident. If I instigated a chain of events which lead to the death of an innocent under such circumstances in Texas, I don't think I would like my chances at claiming self-defense to successfully avoid at least an involuntary manslaughter charge. But that is just my opinion and like most on this board IANAL, and my opinion is worth what I was paid for it. Not even 2 cents.

PS: Guys I agree with the mod. The thread was running fine then took a wrong turn. This thread is about the topic, not the OP or any other poster here.
