Yes, early in the session I believe several universities came up with "estimates" of the financial impact of allowing campus carry. Some were in the hundreds of millions of dollars per year. Total bull.safety1 wrote:39 million dollars my foot. That number would fall under the category of abuse.

My thoughts exactly - Rep. Fletcher gave a great speech/explanation of SB11 a little bit ago, it seems as though these Dems ignored every word he said.RoyGBiv wrote:Wilfully ignorant.v7a wrote:The current Rep that's speaking against SB11 must the dumbest Rep I've heard speak this session.

Open carry had the Huffines amendment removed in conference committee, now will head back to both houses for votes possibly as soon as Friday.
Campus carry is also heading to a conference committee.

"Meantime, a House-Senate conference committee made short work of House Bill 910, which allows those with a concealed handgun license to openly carry a firearm in a shoulder or belt holster.
The bill will return to both houses with a major sticking point removed — an amendment, added by Sen. Don Huffines, R-Dallas, that barred law enforcement from detaining or questioning those with a holstered gun solely to check for a concealed handgun license."

Same here, and posts on the other thread have multiple reporters saying that the Dutton/Huffines amendments were stripped out.
