Costco sells solar powered motion lights with LED's. I have one for my side yard. Not as bright as a wired halogen, but enough to see someone is there. $60 each, and not too bad if you don't have power running nearby already.
...thanks for that tip...a coupla applications come to mind already...I'll check 'em out!!!

...exactly so...and since I sleep in a chair in the living room often as not...that leaves only the shower...if they come upon me in the shower...at least they'll be struck blind...or doubled over with laughter...(and it's on the back of the toidy, under my towel...)

...maybe some switchable lighting needs to be installed...if on your property, motion-detector-activated...if a rented barn, that you could switch on before entering that area...that's a serious situation...be wide awake and have a powerful light...as well as your gun...and maybe a dog...only an evil mind would lurk in the shadows like that...
