Hi,
With instructors renewals coming shortly is anyone interested in shooting Quals?
i'm located in Austin and have free access to the Austin Rifle Club Range.

I have uploaded my LTC-90 and NRA certification. We do have to qualify again be doing a shooting proficiency, you would think because we did this at the last renewal they would believe that we know which end of the gun a bullet comes out of.

i'm interested. Being retired most dates will work for me.

In this years meeting the question was asked if instructors can qualify with a .22 and we were informed to stay with the standard calibers.
A 9mm actually has slightly better ballistics than the 38 special. The 9 is a slightly stronger hit.

I am using google Chrome and it would not upload. Called and they indicated Explorer does not work as well. Finally mailed LTC-8 in.

they told us it is still being studied, they don't know and it will not be considered until 2018

I received a email communication from the RSD No shooting will be done at the Renewal Class. We do not shoot on class day but we do have to qualify. I received info from RSD. We shoot both firearms, certified by another instructor and they post a CHL-100.

Is anyone planning a Instructor range qualification for the Austin area? I would be interested.

I picked 8/14 PM. Knowing Georgetown did not want to be snarled in AM traffic and arrive late.

Does anyone know about the newly signed Bill to allow classes to be online?

House Bill 3784 allows persons approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety to offer an online course to cover the classroom portion of the required training for a License To Carry.
