Re: Cabelas and buying a gun with my LTC
My understanding is that Academy does the same thing. But that's not the worst. While they were still in business here I once bought a box of ammo from "The Sports Authority". They hand carried a box of .38 Spcl ammo to the checkout, after making a call to tell them we were on the way. I never again darkened their doorway, even when they had a lot of sales when they were closing the store.Beiruty wrote:And, they carry the gun for you all the way out the door. The silliest move i ever seen. We used to conceal carry with no issues and now I open carry in the store and they still do the same silly transport of the gun for you.

Re: Cabelas and buying a gun with my LTC
Sounds like my experience as well. I had some discounts that I wanted to use and they had a rifle I wanted. But even before that, it took me three trips there before I could even talk to someone behind the gun counter. Typically when you go to the gun counter, the people behind the counter consist of:
1 playing with their cell phone
2 or 3 standing there telling jokes to one another
1 who keeps coming in and out of the key carded door
1 actually talking to a customer
10 to 12 customers wanting to talk to one of them. 4 or 5 of which just want someone to hand them a box of primers they keep back behind the counter.
Luckily I live close. But to get to talk to someone behind the counter I went in first thing on a Saturday morning. They opened at 9. After all the checking and double checking it was almost 11 before I was out the store, box in hand.
