Re: Would you have been willing to pay more for faster serv
And if the state paper pushers had the option, they'd push EVERYONE (other than those who paid the 'expedited fee') to the back of the pile. So the only way you could get the CHL would be to pay the upper. And that would then become the new defacto cost for a CHL. They'd just delay the 'regular' folks forever, and claim justification because "these people paid to be put at the front of the line, so theirs get priority" and all the others would just gather cobwebs in an abandoned warehouse somewhere.

And even if they did charge you, I bet they wouldn't give you your $20 back either.................i8godzilla wrote:You would more than likely would be charged with bribing a public official and never be able to get a CHL.USA1 wrote:

Re: Would you have been willing to pay more for faster serv
+1 here. Given how much of our information is available to the state, give them 30 days unless there's an unresolved issue (like a prior arrest or something). But how many of us have already had a 'background check' for our jobs or something like that? I have. Had a full up FBI check. Fingerprints, the whole works. Wife went through b/g checks, finger prints, etc. for access to TDC units for some volunteer work she does. So I fail to see why you can get a D/L while you stand there, but to exercise a "right" takes two months to get a "permit" so we can exercise it. Even AFTER going through other background checks.i8godzilla wrote:No, I would not pay more. On the other hand, I would like to see the employees that process the applications pay, based on meeting the states mandated 60 day time limit. I would also like to see the time limit reduced to less than 30.
