Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises
Has anyone heard/read why he stopped? Did he run out of ammo? Just felt he'd done enough? I haven't read anything that tells that part of the story.

Re: Signed up for CHL class! Friend loaned me a semi
I think a model 17 or 19 is easier to shoot for the class, especially if the student doesn't have a lot of experience, but the 26 is a good carry gun. If it doesn't work out, I can borrow my PI mentor's gun that he's offered. He said 5-6 people have used it to pass their tests. Not sure exactly wha...

Re: Signed up for CHL class! Friend loaned me a semi
All I see on it is Glock 26 Austria 9x19 and I think he said something about night sights. Make sense to anyone? Anyone have this gun? Never heard of it. :coolgleamA: just kidding. :biggrinjester: Good luck with your class! Be sure to practice a little first. :tiphat: Oh, yeah. Called my FIL first ...

Re: Signed up for CHL class! Friend loaned me a semi
You have a Glock model 26. That is also known as the "Baby Glock". It is a subcompact in 9mm. Very fine handgun for the CHL class, and for carry. I do hope you have the grip extension on the magazine so you will have a little more to hold onto. Yuppers on the extension. Good to know it's ...

Signed up for CHL class! Friend loaned me a semi
Finally got the info on the class and am signed up to take it November 6. My father-in-law and a few people from work are going to join me. Looking forward to it! A guy at work brought me one of his Glock 9MM today to try out and see if I want to use it for the class. Still trying to figure out exac...

Re: Newbie just joined
Hi everybody. I just joined and will be taking my CHL class on 10/23. I am married, have a 2 yr old. I have fairly new to the CHL world, but NOT new to shooting in general. I'm a country girl, grew up around guns, my husband is former military (USMC) and he is going to school his Associate in CJ to...

Re: Picked her up yesterday!
Alright. First gun practice. NOTE TO SELF: Wadded up cotton balls don't cut it. Get proper ear protection. And ya'll weren't kidding about the umph in this little sucker. Not terribly comfy for extended practice. I didn't do extensive practice for that very reason. I know it will get easier and easi...

Well, looks like we'll both get our way. Just got a call for cookout at the farm for lunch and my father-in-law will be there. Help....at my fingertips. ;) Wish me luck.

Re: Picked her up yesterday!
Nice! You'll want to have a high, firm grip when firing to manage the recoil. Also, bring home some empty casings from the range. That way you can load the empty cartridges into the gun to practice with the trigger and build strength in your finger. When my mother first shot her 642, she could only...

Re: Picked her up yesterday!
Will do. I still can't believe I walked out of there with the gun and a box of ammo and only spent $40.
I won the first prize in my son's FFA raffle and it was $500 towards the gun of my choice. Sa-weeeeeeeet!!!

Picked her up yesterday!
Since I already knew what I wanted, I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I went with the S&W 642. Looking forward to some practice time today (hopefully) and learning all about her!
