He lives on base at Canon AFB in NM. But his in laws live in Childress. Which is where he and my DIL probably got it.
Thank you for the prayers. They're both young and in very good physical shape. So I think they'll both be OK. But I am a little concerned.

My son texted yesterday that he thought he might have Covid. His FIL tested positive and he was hunting with him just prior to Thanksgiving.
Today I was on the phone with him while he was processing some venison to make sausage. He made a comment about thinking his sense of smell might be off, because he couldn't smell the venison. I asked if it had been in the cooler sitting in ice water. He said yes, but in a plastic bag. No water was in the meat. The conversation turned pretty comical as he started searching for more and more things to sniff to see if he really couldn't smell.

He said I know I can taste because I just ate a fantastic piece of Apple Pie.
I suggested smelling his ground coffee. He couldn't smell it.
He got in the fridge and started trying to smell lemon juice, Pickles and eventually some Apple cider vinegar from under his sink.

About an hour later he said his wife was on her way back from the clinic. She tested positive for Strep, Flu and Covid19.
I can't post all the comments in this family friendly site (my son is a C130 crew chief so his language isn't always PG) but he had me rolling. I'm glad to know he hasn't lost his sense of humor.

I agree... I don't know what's wrong with people today. I feel she should be charged with assault.

I was exposed at work a month or so ago. A coworker and I were both in the office, we weren't ever less than 6 feet from each other. I was tested after she showed up positive. I came back negative. I also had the antibodies test done during my normal checkup with my PCP. Just because I was curious if the "Flu" I had late last year that was pretty bad might have been Covid. It also came back negative.

But this week my fiance and I have both had some pretty severe allergies. Settling in our lungs with all the mucous. If we were to go to a clinic the CDC guidelines would have them put us on the probable Covid list, which gets counted as active cases.

The game playing they're doing with the numbers is very frustrating. It's hard to gauge what's actually going on. But I suspect that's by design.

Wow, 672 people a month could potentially die from Covid vs 458 a month died from the flu.

That mortality rate for 2017-2018 is from Oct 2017 - March 2018. that's more than a thousand a month more than your 458 number.

I'm not saying Covid-19 is a hoax. I'm saying the response to it is.

So up until today I only knew one person who had tested positive for Covid-19. I may have mentioned that I had known only 2 men whose names are on the wall in Washington DC.

But today a friend has been notified he was in a meeting last week with someone who has tested positive. Then a restaurant I ate at last week is closed for sterilization due to an employee testing positive. My friend thought that maybe he should be tested. The drive thru govt ones are swamped with cars, and the closest one to us at CVS has no appointments.

So it appears things have changed in Houston in the last few weeks.

I know 5 people personally now. One a coworker, and 4 are friends in San Antonio.

All 5 had very mild symptoms. They said the lack of energy was the worst part of it.

I was tempted to go visit one of them, and then hole up in my RV for a couple of weeks to get it over with.

Interesting report by Tucker Carlson. It's surreal having Youtube and Facebook openly censoring anything that goes against their approved views.

I had to laugh. Like they could figure out what to do with a farm.

I recently got Engaged. We are planning the wedding for June 2021. I joked with her that we should move the wedding forward. With groups limited to 10 or less, we'd save a ton on food and booze.
