That is quite likely.sjfcontrol wrote:That's fine. The line of my post that you quoted was secondary, anyway, to the primary argument. But you're right that there is no case law to back up my statements. As there is little to no case law to back up most of the disputes that arise on this forum. And given the inherent lawfulness of most CHL licensees, that isn't likely to change anytime soon.OldCurlyWolf wrote:I will believe that when I see a court of competent jurisdiction ruled that way and it is upheld in higher courts.sjfcontrol wrote:
And logically, it simply doesn't make sense to claim that you lose your rights to carry under the MPA by acquiring a license to carry. The point of a license is to grant additional privileges, not to restrict rights you would have otherwise had.
I do not want to be the test case.

Re: First Time Pulled Over, Lessons Learned
Not in my wallet but in another little thing I carry I have DL, then Insurance Card, then CHL. If I need to hand two to an officer, no. 3 is right there with the other 2.OCD wrote:I have mine in one slot in my wallet with my insurance card between them. If I have to show ID to buy alcohol or some other reason, the insurance card hides my CHL. If I pull out my DL and insurance for a cop, the CHL is right there too.punkndisorderly wrote:After doing some research and thinking for an evening, a few things I've taken away from the experience:
1) Turns out that there is no penalty for not showing the CHL now, so he was going on old data.
2) I'm taping my DL and CHL together so I can't pull one out without the other.
You must be a lot younger than I am. The last time I was asked for ID to buy liquor was in 1970.
