My thought on hearing that was; people are dying, someone is shooting, put on your big boy panties and get in there and try to stop it. I've been subjected to CS and it sucks, it makes it hard to see, but you can function, "Jaguar, Private E-1 United States Army, 123-45-6789."
Partially in their defense, it's unlikely they knew what the foreign substance was at that time.

It's just another example of the fact that we can't abdicate our right to self defense to anybody. I've got LEOs in my immediate family, and even they'll tell you - they usually get to a scene just in time to start first aid, taking witness report,s and snapping photographs.

Agreed. If I came upon a scene with gas and knew before arriving that it was a mass shooting, caution would be an understatement.

Not apples and oranges. Maybe red delicious and granny smith, but still apples to apples.
A few hijackers with box cutters vs 6-7 people does not equal a heavily armed man wearing armor vs 1 guy with a handgun no matter how you add it up.
Disagree.
I'd rather shoot it out with a guy who apparently can't even clear a jam in an ar-15 *note, however, I am thankful that more weren't killed*. Than being unarmed at try to take on 6 people with knifes who are set on dying.

The laws in Texas are different than anywhere else, in most if not all of the other states a simple "gun buster" sign will suffice. BTW you gonna charge the guy with the AR 12 gauge and a 40 cal??? Be my guest but you will see me looking for cover and concealment. Any of you who have said otherwise are either lying or have a death wish. Like many have said a CHL is not a Batman license, it is to protect me. A theater is going to be fairly dark and with that many rounds fired I imagine a little smoky too. That kind of confusion could easily lead to innocent people being shot when you are trying to help. Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something else is more important, my life is important, getting out of the kill zone is important, taking down the gunman and being the hero is not courageous its crazy.

Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

I could care less WHERE he got the money from. AR15=$ 700, 870 12 ga= $300, 2 Glocks $1000, Vest=$300, Helmet and misc $400, and say $1000 in ammo....
$4000 is not a huge amount of money to acquire when you are planning on dying or being locked up for the rest of your life.

It would be different if he purchased a Sherman Tank and drove it through the theater. The point is he acquired the guns, the same type of guns that politicians, the media, and celebrities will soon be calling for a ban or tougher restrictions on.

Grad loans are horrible. 6.8% interest for the first $20,500 then 7.8% interest for anything over.

Re: Gunfire during Dark Night Rises

No doubt student loans are often misused. Just to be clear, a student can only borrow (federal loans) the cost of tuition (check paid directly to the university, not student) plus the school's estimate of cost of living.

AMC Theaters announced on its Facebook page that people wearing costumes or masks will no longer be admitted
As a result of this tragedy, AMC Theatres will no longer allow guest enter the theatre wearing costumes or masks.
Nor will the theatre allow guests to bring fake weapons inside the buildings.
http://www.myfoxaustin.com/story/190762 ... s-costumes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Please leave fake weapons at home ... gas masks too; and no red hair or make up
Maybe we can get the TSA to provide security screening at the movies now.
Direct from AMC's facebook page:
"UPDATE - FRIDAY 4:45PM CST: Contrary to media reports, costumes are not banned, but we will not admit guests with face-concealing masks and we will not allow fake weapons in the buildings. We want all our guests to feel comfortable at our theatres and we will be closely monitoring."
