Thanks Keith, just what I was thinking. Leave it in one of the suitcases for the duration of the trip and unpack with everything else.Keith B wrote:Without a CHL, unloaded and cased. Would also not let others see it while moving in. Apartment complexes have a lot of eyes and just knowing there are firearms in the apartment can invite unsavory guests who enter while you are not there.texasmusic wrote:I'll bring this up and see what he says. My only other question is, how to transport into the apartment?

Road trip question.
OK, buddy of mine asked me this question. I've been looking up the relevant states' carry laws but here's the details if you guys can help me.
Buddy has no CHL. 1 handgun making this trip. Long stay in FL for the summertime.
Traveling from Texas to FL. Passing through LA, MS, AL, and FL.
What procedure should be followed here, from what I understand GOPA should allow the gun to be transported freely despite the state or local laws (unloaded, locked in trunk etc.). I saw Alabama does not have a MPA equivalent law, requires unloaded and locked.
When in FL, moving gun into apartment. Concealed without liscense? Locked in case or open?
Once inside, any special requirements for storage?
Thanks for the help, I'm not trying to shirk the research on this. I figured someone might have been in a similar situation and have some info on tap.
