I agree completely. In fact I've looked at this video a few times, pondered the scenario where I am abruptly tackled from behind. The more I've thought of it, I definitely would have been slicing & dicing the doofus. If I am walking with my knife already in a hand in my pocket, I can deploy it way faster than my concealed handgun.

Personally, I think ALL of the people involved in disarming him should be in jail right now.
I'll often walk with my weak side hand in my pocket, holding my knife. If I was being tackled like that, it is just as likely as I'd have stabbed whoever was tackling me. An up close and personal ambush, I can deploy my knife quicker than my gun.

Re: Man assaulted during Wally Walk

An alternate view would be that people living in states where unlicensed open carry is legal get used to the idea that not everyone with a gun is either a cop or a criminal.

I've had people ask me if I was a cop when I open carried, and my response was generally, "No, just an ordinary citizen carrying legally which is the right of every law-abiding citizen in this state ..." The reaction was generally,"Cool, I wasn't aware of that. Am I allowed to carry too?"
