Re: Minnesota no longer recognizes Texas CHL
I repeat my point - if the issue is because Texas allows certain youngsters a break on their age for a CHL because of their military service, then MN could/should simply not recognize THOSE few permits - not the entire state's 800,000 licensees. :iagree: For example, the Texas-New Mexico reciprocit...

Re: Minnesota no longer recognizes Texas CHL
I wonder how many Texas CHLers travel to Minnesota per year? Will this actually effect that many? Not saying I'm not disappointed but curious how many of us actually travel to Minnesota. I have a sister who moved Minnesota from Florida about 18 months ago. So it is conceivable that I may visit her ...

Re: Unarmed US Marines foil suspected terrorist attack
Belgian journalist Marin Buxant Tweeted that the US Marines were on leave in Brussels when they spotted the man and followed him on the train. When the suspect went into the toilet, the Marines recognised the sound of a weapon being armed and decided to act immediately. These Marines weren't just s...

Re: OH: Man Kills Burglar--Charged with Manslaughter
News accounts I've read stated he followed them outside, in other words, he left the house, and shot him in the back. There has been quite a discussion of this case on the Ohioans For Concealed Carry forum ( thread here ). A county prosecutor in a different county had these comments: If they are run...

Re: Houston
I've open carried into banks in other states. Never been an issue. I did have a bank manager give me a hard time, once. I knew for a fact that the bank corporate policy was to allow both open and concealed carry, so I had corporate security call her and retrain her. She apologized to me the next vis...

Re: Ever Been Asked to Leave?
I am familiar with incidents discussed on a concealed carry forum in a different state where people OC'ing were asked to cover it up, or to put it in the car, or asked to leave a private business. I am unaware of anyone getting into this type of interaction who was concealed, as expected. Walmart is...

Re: Pistol Shot Recorded at 73,000 FPS
Note that 73,000 FPS refers to the video recording speed of frames per second. Not to an extraordinarily fast bullet shot in outer space at 73,000 feet per second muzzle velocity.

Re: Illinois apparently to allow non-resident CCW licenses
I could have sworn the original law already had provisions for a non-resident license. This is a BIG change. Previously, IL only recognized about 5 states as "substantially similar" to the IL laws. Oh, I see. The original law did have a provision for non-resident licenses, but it was limi...

Re: Lifetime Fitness and Open Carry
Personally, I love the gym and I'd rather not risk a confrontation. So I lock it up before I go in and will continue to, regardless of signage. :iagree: I don't see how I could handle disarming and rearming in the men's locker room at my LT Fitness anyway. Going into a bathroom stall doesn't help w...

Re: Just returned from vacation
The southern states are pretty conceal-carry friendly, thank the Good Lord. Glad you had a nice vacation.
Off the top of my head, I can think of 16 states I've carried in. Most were legal, but I didn't know the law when I carried in New York on a couple of car trips.

... I never noticed the signs because they are posted at each entrance to the parking lot. I realize they are not valid sign ... What makes them invalid? A parking lot and property can be posted 30.06. Of course, it would still be legal under the MPA to have a handgun in your car (as it is not unde...

Re: Is deadly forced justified when construction company try
Am I the only one that thinks tearing down your house with you still in it would be at least aggravated assault, if not attempted murder? I guess you could plop yourself down in the house with a rifle and call the police. If the backhoe starts knocking down the house with you in it, you'd seem to b...
