Re: Drive by shooting
"It's not uncommon to hear shooting, mostly I think it's just people firing their guns not criminal activity tho there is some". My understanding is that firing any firearm randomly in the city limits IS criminal activity.

Re: Getting CHL and Wife issue
Here are some of my responses I give to those who ask me why I carry all the time. I ask them if they have ever had an auto accident and if they respond yes, then I ask them why did they drive that route or even leave the house if they knew they were going to have an accident. Or I may ask why do th...

Re: Compliance
I wear hearing devices and have as yet had a problem of hearing LEO's asking me questions standing beside the drivers side of my vehicle. One scenario I have pondered is when you inform the LEO that you carrying and he/she asks you to remove your firearm, how would I respond. This of course is if yo...

Dixie Reloaders
Does anyone know if Dixie Reloaders are still selling at any of the FTW gun shows? A friend and I have used their reloads for years without any problems. Have not been to the gun show recently so I don't know if they are still there. Their prices were very reasonable back then but they most like hav...

"I sure wish that pigs would leave an area after seeing a few of their own knocked down. We are knee deep in them."
Would be willing to help you with your pig problem. I have a AR FiveSeven with laser and light I would like to try out on them.

Re: Handgun equipment/technique questions from Newbie
She has to walk across the parking lot at night after her classes at TCC. I don't ask and she doesn't tell. In my opinion sometimes a man (or woman) has to make a decision to disobey man’s law when the law is unjust. Not allowing a lawful citizen to have the means to protect themselves and/or other...

Laser on handgun
While I was teaching my daughter how to shoot a Glock 33 with a CT Laser I sold her, I noticed she was trying to “hold” the laser dot on the target. After she shot 3-4 mags to let her get familiar with the gun, I suggested she not try to "hold" the dot on the target. I told her to squeeze ...

Laser on handgun
I will not try to convince anyone about the advantages of a laser on a handgun. I will just express the reasons I added them to two of my carry weapons (Colt Combat Commander .45 & Glock 22 .40 cal and soon my Ruger LC9). As anyone who has been in a close quarter fire fight will tell you, you wi...

Re: What should I use, harsh language?
All of these "contact" method means that you would have to be in "contact" range. :smash: Depending on how long your arms are that could be too close -- at least for me. The best answer I can give is to use a method where you can reach out and touch someone without putting yourse...

Re: Ranges in Ft Worth
Shoot Smart gun range has a "private" lane where you can shoot from the holster, rapid fire, double taps, etc. They are located on Hwy 35 North. See link below.

Re: Looking for a New Church
It’s disturbing to me that many of the members on this blog site seem to have been restricted in carrying their personal firearms (CHL licensed of course) in their churches. We have had a Shepherd’s Ministry at my church for about 2 years with the consent of the church staff. With all the assaults, ...

Re: Military Police
Things have changed since I was in the service ('59-‘65). I served with a Marine guard company on a Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, OK. A friend and I had purchased some Hi-Standard Double Action .22 revolvers while station there. We had to check our personal weapons into the armory when on bas...

Re: Semi-auto guide rods: Function with and without lasers?
I have had a CT laser (grip mounted) on my Colt Combat Commander for years and have not had to adjust the sight alignment after 1000's of rounds other than the first time I shot it. I also have one on my Glock 21 since I bought it and shot hundreds of rounds without any need for adjustment. Also hav...
