Re: Your #1 Favorite Firearm you have

Favorite handgun? My .45 ACP Kimber Ultra CDP, it's my carry gun and we (mostly) love each other. Favorite rifle? I only have one, an M&P 15-22. The ergonomics are wonderful and it's just fun to plink with. Favorite shotgun? An inexpensive little Mossberg Maverick 20 gauge, mostly because it's w...

Yep, it's an addiction. This is a very good place to relish whatever of your personality is on the OCD side. Keep records and logs, be precise, and have fun!

Re: Tumbler issues

I don't know about ruining a barrel, but I've broken a depriming pin or two on a pin wedged sideways in a case. I got the Frankford magnet mentioned above, and run it through the brass after I tumble the brass through my hands as I'm rinsing it. I feel a little like Scrooge McDuck playing with his m...

Re: Tumbler issues

One of the guys who's strongly pro-revolver suggested the very same test, and yes, I triple checked to be sure my Sig was empty before I did so.

Re: Renassance Festival

My friend who runs the tavern says he doesn't usually go in by the main entrances, but the employee / actor entrances are not posted. All of the alcohol-serving "areas" (as opposed to the counters where you can just walk up and order) have 51% signs. So it sounds like carrying is fine as l...

Re: scary situation after a car accident

Well, for once in my married life I'm glad to have an extremely common name. Only one of the people they "found" was really me and they have everything but my street address (and the fact that we have a pickup truck) wrong. Since the pickup is parked in the driveway, that didn't take rocke...

I just pinged a friend who runs the Sea Devil Tavern at the RenFest to get his viewpoint.

Re: scary situation after a car accident

This all turned out to be a practical joke by my former boss and my current boss conspiring to have fun with me, but at the time I did not know it. Later of course everyone had a big laugh. Good for you that you could laugh about it ... I would have been sorely tempted to open up a can of Little Si...

Re: Trying to help my wife shoot better.

Holding the grip too tightly can also cause shaking. And since a compact .40 has a pretty healthy recoil (especially for a new shooter), I bet she is giving it a death grip. :iagree: Had the same problem myself, when I realized what i was doing it resolved immediately. It also helped me to focus on...

Re: Renassance Festival

Just so everyone knows, there's a huge 30.06 sign just to the right of the ticket booths. If you don't see it, you're not looking at all. It's about a 20 foot high permanent sign made from logs and the letters are burned into wood. The letters are about 2" high. I've been to the Faire the last...

Re: What is a man?

What was the context? My definition of a "what is a man" vs. "what is a boy" is a little different from the discussion of the characteristics of a male vs. a female, even keeping to the 10-year-old daughter rule. That is, are we talking about when the male of the species attains ...

Re: Introduce yourself

I put about 70 rounds through it on Saturday, and Sunday had an awesome time with Compvest and 4 other ladies doing some shooting drills. Thanks to my new "perfect grip" (I may be redoing my sharpie marks all week so they are there for my CHL test) I was getting some pretty nice groupings...
