Re: Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut
Coco Lopez is the best mix for Pina Coladas. I started using it while I tended bar, and have never looked back. It has the best flavor & when properly used the best texture. Ensure that you mix it before making the drinks. I always kept mine in a squeeze jar and would shake it before use. You ca...

Re: Newest Kimbers in our house
They are beautiful. How do you like the wrap around grip on your ultra carry?

Re: Picked up my new Kimber
So... I feel like an idiot. While at a friends house learning how to field strip my 1911 we found the Bushing tool in the case. Realizing that the guide rod is so short, does anyone know if it can be changes to a full length guide rod? I will follow up with a range report as soon as I get a chance t...

Re: Picked up my new Kimber
I know that I do not need the Takedown tool from Kimber for a full size pistol, but has anybody used the Kimber Bushing Tool? I did not get one with mine but have read a few reviews about it and it seems like it might be helpful for a new 1911 owner to field strip the gun. Any thoughts? http://www.k...

Picked up my new Kimber
So after much research & debate I have decided on a new gun. I have rented multiple different .45s and I chose the 1911 frame. As I looked I realized that I wanted a full size frame. I really enjoyed the bobtail on the new Kimber Super Carry. So... I purchased a new Kimber Super Carry Custom. Th...

Re: Took the comp tac plunge
I have been looking into both the MTAC or Super Tuck Deluxe. On a full size 1911 do you use a full length kydex or do you go with one that is slightly shorter and let the barrel stick through a little? Is there a huge difference in the MTAC and the Minotaur Spartan?

Re: First time 1911 shooting
I went today to DFW Gun Range and rented a Kimber Stainless Steel Compact. This was my first time to shoot a 1911. I had no trouble keeping the gun on target, and didn't feel the recoil that I had expected. The gun was a breeze to shoot and very comfortable in my hands. The single stack made the gri...

Re: Looking for a .45 for carry.
As I walked through the Allen Gun Show today I got to handle a lot of different guns. As I tried them side by side it is easier to determine what feels better. The XDM feels "rough" and thick compared to most others. I know single vs double stack. I am getting more used to the thumb safety...

Re: Looking for a .45 for carry.
You have chosen 3 very different styles of pistols there - from a pure "feel" perspective, which felt best in your hand? I have held all and they fell good. The XDM feels a little thicker, but even the 1911 has many after-market grips to increase the width. I have rented the XDM and it fe...

Re: Looking for a .45 for carry.
First, thank you all for the input so far, although it has not really helped me to sway one way or the other. Being that they are all good guns is only making the decision more complicated. I always wanted a Glock when I was younger, but it seems that I grew out of that as I am looking to purchase. ...

Re: Looking for a .45 for carry.
I am looking mostly at full size pistols. All three have a full size barrel, the shortest being 4.5" on the XDM.

Looking for a .45 for carry.
Good Morning, I am new to handguns and am getting ready to take a CCL class. I have been looking to purchase a .45 for some time and have been trying to do a lot of research. I have read quite a few posts and am thinking that I have my choices narrowed down, but would still like a little more input....
