I fly every few months and almost always carry (only where TX CHL is not valid do I leave it at home). Any type of Pelican type case is secure for both airline use, but also to secure at a destination hotel and/or around children. Try http://www.caseclub.com/pelican-case-1120.htm as an example. The cases have foam interiors that can be custom fit for your "EDC" to include: weapon, magazines, knife and small box (20-25 rounds) of factory SD ammo.
