You won't find much on mods, most people keep them original, except for finish and grips.

Re: Bought a Star model BM. Regretting it.

At last count I had 23 various Spanish autoloaders.

I'm always looking for more, so send me those orphan Spaniards wasting away in your sock drawer

Not so fast there, Pardner!
Ole George like a bit of bling in his sidearms:

Re: Bought a Star model BM. Regretting it.

I agree, I haven't had the courage to detail strip any of my Stars. In fact I took one to a gunsmith and paid way too much money to have anon-functional thumb safety corrected. If it were a 1911 I'd have had no problem fixing it myself.

Re: Bought a Star model BM. Regretting it.

The only parts that people regularly need:

That detent spring and ball under the thumb safety. If you pull the grip the safety can rotate down, exposing the detent ball, which immediately launches itself across the room into the cat's litter box. Or into the place where lost socks go.

The other part is the firing pin, which will break if you make a habit of dry-firing it. Any gunsmith can repair the original, or make a new one.

Re: Bought a Star model BM. Regretting it.

Try it with some nice wood grips. Takes the edge off that bling

Maybe the fiddleback myrtle at the bottom

Re: Bought a Star model BM. Regretting it.

I have two, including one just like yours. They are solid, reliable guns, accurate and with great triggers.
1911 holsters fit it. 4sgrips has some very nice grips if you don't like the faux ivory.
I think you should shoot it first.

If you want to sell yours send me a PM.
