Re: Armed robbery at work near me
That's because the blend you describe is covered by "American". You get hyphenated enough, you drop the ingredients. Like stew. You don't call it beef-potato-onion-carrot soup, right?

Surprised they caught it at all, ever.
Did they make him show his Earth naturalization papers, or get on his case about being an illegal "Alien"?

Re: Armed robbery at work near me
When we moved here 20 years ago, my new neighbor wanted to know what "nationality" we were. I think he meant, where did our grandparents come from. I told him we are Americans - seemed to stump him.
Sorry for the thread drift/hijack. I get nervous when I read about things like armed robberies in places that most people consider "safe" because although I like to believe my situational awareness is good, the fact is that someone could jump out at me as described in the OP and I would not have a clue. The wisdom of drawing against a drawn gun is questionable. Another neighbor where we used to live was a retied cop, who claimed he could draw against me in that situation with water pistols (squirt guns) and win, every time, even though I knew what was coming. He was right. Can't see myself winning that one, with real pistols.
Regards,
Andrew

Re: Armed robbery at work near me
When there is a check box for "Race", I have been known to check "Other" and write in "Human." Never noticed, never any trouble. I think nobody looks.
