Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12

Was in Austin today; stopped by Starbucks with a few friends. Ordered our drinks and asked to speak with the manager. I asked her if she knew there was a boycott today, and she said yes and looked nervous....then was VERY surprised when I told her that we never come to Starbucks, but were there toda...

Re: mag pouch for Bersa Thunder .380

It's Outdoor Edge, Multi-Use Holster. I picked up a couple at Academy, in the smallest size, and I believe they will work nicely. The mags are a bit too long for the snap closure, but I just folded the flaps back behind my belt (and may end up cutting them off), which actually increases accessibilit...

mag pouch for Bersa Thunder .380

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for finding a double mag pouch for my Bersa Thunder .380? I have found a couple places that can order something for me, but I am really hoping to find something locally (in the greater Austin area). Thanks!

Re: .380 Semi Autos

I've put only a couple hundred rounds through my Bersa Thunder, but I've never had a jam.

Re: .380 ammo

I've been seeing .380 in stock at Walmarts all around my area. I want to say it's $13-14 for a box of 50.

Re: Anybody attending LaRue Range Day?

Oh, and I have to agree: the people were great - both the crowd and the LaRue staff. Kudos to them for keeping their cool and being flexible to work with the huge numbers who flooded in.

Re: Anybody attending LaRue Range Day?

I was there - the girl in the IDF cap, if anyone saw me. I arrived around 9:30 and got one of their 500 range bags with a few freebies thrown in. I think they opened their shooting lines around 10 or a little after, and I was able to get through 2 lines before I had to leave around noon. It was pret...

Cardboard Targets

I'm a new instructor preparing for my first class and am researching my target options. Does anyone use cardboard targets? Do you buy paper targets and mount them on cardboard yourself? Of course I'm interested in saving money, but I definitely want to deliver a high-quality class experience and don...

Re: Experience at the state capitol building.

I'm wondering what the penalty would be or how ticked the DPS guys would be if someone said they were carrying, but really weren't. My brother and I were at the Capitol a few weeks ago. They asked him if he was carrying and where, and he showed them. Then the officer glanced at me and said, "W...

Re: Carrying around OPC (Other People's Children)?

I echo the general sentiment. I have no reservations about carrying around any children -- or even carrying a gun on my person while holding other people's babies, for that matter. The few people whom I've told that I carry are very appreciative; the rest are clueless. The way I see it, carrying is ...

Re: How to get my wife to get a CHL

The website http://corneredcat.com played a huge role in changing my mind about carrying. When my brother first started talking about getting his CHL, I was quite opposed -- not for moral reasons, but because I was scared he would accidentally shoot himself, or the gun would "just go off"....
