Absolutely this. Are we even going to get a chance? It's now or never.

Should we be taking up a collection to send Ex-lax and Starbucks to Sen. Ellis' office?

Re: Campus Carry -- Where Are We Now?

I suspect CC is the price we had to pay to get OC through without a fight. Sad that we aren't left with enough time or political capital to realistically do anything about CC, but at least we got the OC elephant out of the room. Hopefully this clears the decks next session so the grownups can get back to work.

In fact, he may be able to just let the clock run out and not appoint conferees at all if he can take the heat. He is adamantly against campus carry and has said so in an interview.
At this point, I don't see how a conference committee on campus carry can get a bill back in time to get it scheduled with enough time left to realistically avoid a filibuster, especially if the House hasn't even appointed the committee members yet, and especially when we have to go in all to get OC done. If OC had already been on Abbott's desk like it was supposed to be, maybe we would have had enough gas in the tank to push CC through. At this point, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where that happens.

Thanks Joe. OC isn't your fault this time, but this is. I hope enough people remember but I'm sure they won't.

In any event, it is absolutely imperative that we get this OC elephant out of the room. It will continue to eat us alive if we don't.
