Re: First Shotgun

My wife has the remington 870 express 20 gauge youth version or the gun. She love it and handles it very well. She is about 5'4" and only about 125 pounds. Maybe something to consider.

Re: Spring Guns and Ammo

Apothix, we may have bumped into each other. Congrats on taking the CHL class. Now the waiting game begins on your plastic. I was over on lane 1 on the other side from your class with a buddy of mine. That was his second time shooting a pistol. I hope that it does not take as long to get your licens...

Re: First Shotgun

Heck I think I will sell him one of mine and get another one. I would really like a semi-auto instead of the pump. Although nothing says "You really should leave" at 2:43 in the morning than the sound of a pump shotgun coming from the dark in front of you. Very scary noise.

Re: First Shotgun

Ok I am very jealous of you guys who can go to Cabela's. I live in Spring and we don't have a Cabela's anywhere close. Heck my father in law who lives in ABQ has been to Cabela's a dozen times and I have not. All I have is a Bass Pro Shop to go to in Katy.

Re: Holster squeeking

Ok no saddle soap. I will try baby powder. I have quite a few containers around my house with a little boy.

My wife lovingly refers to me as "squeaky" around the house. I can't wait for the new nickname when I no longer squeak.

Re: First Shotgun

I am happy to see that my suggestion was not off par with what seems to be the norm for everyone else. I will also suggest the Mossberg 500 if cost is an issue. Now let me pose another question 12 gauge or 20 gauge or does it really matter? I like both of mine I just don't know what to suggest for a...

First Shotgun

A buddy of mine is looking to purchase his first shotgun for home defense and possibly shooting clay pigeons. He really has no desire to hunt with it although he is not ruling that out one day. I suggested a Remington 870 Express, I own 2, one 12 and the other 20 gauge and they have served me well f...

Re: Spring Guns and Ammo

I was just at SGA today and will continue to go back. I took a friend along who is new to shooting handguns and he absolutely loved it. There were no problems that we saw or any safety issues. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable with questions my friend had on buying his first handgun. I would rec...

Re: Holster squeeking

I have heard the same thing, keep wearing it and it will get better with age. It is less than a year old so I have a long way to go with it. I will try the baby powder and see if that helps.

Would saddle soap help?

Holster squeeking

I am using a Crossbreed Supertuck holster with a government 1911 in it and darn if that thing doesn't squeek at the worst times, standing and sitting in church. It is probably not as loud as I think but I do not want it to give me away. Does anyone else have this problem and how can I fix it? I have...

Re: FS: Colt Talo Night Commander - BCS area - $975

Very nice pistol. I have been looking for a 4" to add to my collection of a 5" and 3", but all I have to offer is a trade plus a little cash right now. Good luck with the sale.

Re: Introduce yourself

Thanks. I find it very funny that I don't practice what I preach. I am a school teacher and I am always telling my students to read the directions before they start the assignment. If only I had one of them telling me the same thing.

I am happy to be here.

Re: Introduce yourself

I have been lurking for a little while and now just this evening I just broke rule 13 for listing a firearm for sale. I now feel like the biggest bone head for not reading the rules until after I posted. On another note I am happy to be here and have been reading several topics for ideas on how to c...
