That being the case, I highly doubt whether these employees are applying the same 3 box limit to themselves that they apply to the public on the rare occasions friends and family haven't cleaned out new stock. I used to buy a lot of ammo at Walmart but I don't even bother looking there any more unless I happen to be in the store for some other reason.PBR wrote:this is true -- just so happen at walmart last night and noticed 5 federal boxes (325 rd boxes) hidden behind other ammo so finally got someone over in the department and to my surprise they dont sell ammo from 10pm to 7am -- it happened to be 11:30pm and i asked them whom they were hiding the ammo for, he just laughed and said what do you mean? -- i said well only managers and department manager for sporting goods has keys and with the ammo being hide behind other ammo it had to be done by one of them -- he just said i dont know what your talking about but be here at 7am and it will still be here cause thats when we will sell it -- so just happened to be up at 6 this morning and went there walked over to the ammo counter box and behold no more boxes in there and its 6:30 am -- so i asked them where they went and how come they were sold, they all acted surprised and as i was leaving i seen the same support manager i talked too at 11:30 and told him i knew you were lying and holding the ammo for someone cause its all gone and its 6:30 am so no ammo should of been sold but it has magically disappearedOldgringo wrote:

I happened upon some 22 a while back in a local Walmart and heard one of the employees on his phone calling family to come get it. Re: Scored some .22 LR at Walmart today
My local Academy had 525 round bricks of Remington Golden Bullet this morning. First time I've been able to buy anything larger than a 100 round box in months. Limit one per customer. The guy stocking the shelves said they'd probably be sold out of bricks by noon.

Re: Scored some .22 LR at Walmart today
The owner of our local hardware store told me he has lots on backorder, but can't get any, period. Seems distributors may be playing favorites.Oldgringo wrote:Very interesting!
It seems the WalMart in Jacksonville never had any .22LR for $15-20/brick while the local hardware had that same ammo for $75-100/brick. How did that happen?

Re: Scored some .22 LR at Walmart today
All the Walmarts around where I live and travel have a three box limit on 22 when they have it in stock, which is rarely. Generally, as soon as it comes in employees have notified friends and relatives and shortly thereafter the shelves are clean. My local Academy always has 22...usually several different brands (almost always Federal Match and Aquila, often CCI, sometimes some variety of Remington, in 50 or 100 round boxes), but they normally have a two box limit (about a month ago they went for a few days with a five box limit).JRG wrote:I was able to score three bricks of 555 22LR Winchester HP copper plated bullets just today. I was in the Nogales, AZ Walmart shopping with the wife and just happened by the ammo display. It seemed that the employees had just unboxed today's shipment. I was shocked to see about 10 bricks of Winchester and another 6 or so bricks of 325 round Federal on the shelves. It has been a long, long, long time since I have seen such. The older employee asked me how many I wanted, I started to say I'll take it all, but instead said I'd take three Winchester boxes. They were $27.88 each. The Federal was $18.97 each.
So, it was a very successful trip. The wife got what she wanted and I got something I thought I'd never see again.

What is rarer than 22 LR is .38 snake shot. Haven't seen any of that in over two years.
