I understand what you mean and to a large part agree, Excaliber.
I would add that our nation used to be more polite as a whole as well so that certain topics were not discussed, meaning what was discussed was typically within appropriate bounds for the place, context, and company already. That internal filter of whether something is appropriate and a worthwhile addition to the discussion is sadly and grossly lacking in the general public today where even the most base images and ideas are shared openly with every passerby. There is no societal value placed on discretion since the advent of social media.
Many of my friends have actually noted the obverse societal trend where freedom of speech, freedom of choice, etc is heralded as a driving value for many who then use it as a stick to pummel anyone who dares to disagree, thus using the excuse of freedom to silence any differing voices and the excuse of choice to remove all other options.
I agree with Crossfire in that it isn't for me, but I'm glad the option is out there and holsters specific to women are being actively pursued.

Re: Interesting Concealed Carry Rig for Ladies
I find the ads you reference to be debasing and not a justification for others to perpetuate the crude behavior. Advertisers intentionally appeal to the reptilian brain (hunger, thirst, lust) because it bypasses the critical thinking of the upper mammalian brain which would say the product stinks and costs too much. I expect more from gentlemen, especially when in the known presence of ladies. Since you do not expect more of yourself, I will place your name on my ignore list so I will not need to read your posts. I don't consider it the ideal response, but it is the best one I have given the circumstances.speedsix wrote:...I am sorry that you are so over-sensitive that VERY carefully chosen and VERY decent references to the fact that the lady in the ad is pretty and easy to look at bother you...but you are being way too sensitive...in a group of adults at a range with that demonstration going on , I'm sure you would hear/see the same responses...I was not out of line, nor do I think any of the others were...there was not a hint of vulgarity in any of them...it's real fine for the entire advertising industry to capitalize on woman's beauty and man's attraction to it(and ladies' longing to be beautiful...)...I won't be shamed for making decently appreciative comments about them...now the comments after the video in the link...you can be offended at...but we here have said nothing shameful...

Re: Interesting Concealed Carry Rig for Ladies
FYI: Comments like this and several similar in this thread are offensive to many women and a good number of men. I know that some here also speak like this or are accustomed to those around them doing so, but I also know I am not the only one who is not subjected to comments like this in everyday life and find them jarring and offensive to see them here.speedsix wrote:...nobody hinted that it was...I find no fault with the holster...nor the model!!! (but let me go watch it again just to be sure...)
I would hate to think that I would be talked about like this should I be at a range with forum members.

Re: Interesting Concealed Carry Rig for Ladies
I imagine the set set-up in the armpit would be even worse on the neck and shoulders as there is nothing to distribute the weight evenly across the shoulders like a traditional shoulder holster.

Re: Interesting Concealed Carry Rig for Ladies
Even if that were a viable option for me, which it isn't, I cannot imagine how my shoulders would feel having that weight there all day every day. Bra straps are not typically known for being ergonomic (a few exceptions do exist) and putting that weight hanging right in the middle would not play on the typical bra's ergonomic strengths. Maybe women who carry a lot more weight there anyway wouldn't notice the addition as much, but I imagine it would be awful on my neck and shoulders.
