The Annoyed Man wrote:Senator Marco Rubio schools Senator Kerry on the Senate Floor yesterday:

His closing statement:
I believe my time is about to expire, so let me close with this: compromise is fantastic! .....I would love to compromise, but I would say to you that compromise that is not a solution is a waste of time. If my house were on fire, I can't compromise about which part of the house I'm going to save! You save the whole house! Or it will ALL burn down! We either save this country, or we do not. And to save it, we must seek solutions.
I'd vote for that guy if he ever runs for president.
Most of my family still resides in the Sunshine State. My Mother and late Father were die-hard Democrats. While visiting my Mother last year, I grabbed her by her shirt collar* and took her--kicking and screaming--to a meet and greet political even in South Florida. After hearing candidate Marco Rubio speak she was slightly impressed. However, during the 'mixing with crowd' period he asked Mom if he had her support. Naturally, she expressed that I kidnapped her, made her attend, and then proceeded to tell him him she was a Democrat. He spent a very short time telling her what was wrong with straight party voting and what he intended to accomplish when elected. After, he again asked for her support and she said she would more than likely vote for him. A few weeks later when I quizzed her she said she had received some information in the mail and what he said made sense to her--yes, she would be voting for him. She said she believed he really cared and was not just going to Washington to line his own pockets. Let's hope Mom is right.

*No I really did not grab her by the collar but she would get a kick out me saying I did!

I am truly amazed how many people are coned into voting for someone who does not have their interest at heart and only wants to protect bankers and billionaires
You think that is the problem? Leaders have plans; all others follow.

When ALL Americans start paying taxes then I would say it is okay to raise taxes on those in upper income brackets. The one that is orchestrating the con is sitting in the Oval Office.

Both Democrats and Republicans are not happy with the state of affairs in Washington DC. About the only person that is happy is former President Carter. Now it seems he may not be remembered as being the worst president ever.

loadedliberal wrote:Yes you are wrong, Obama has bent over backwards to get a deal done and all the GOP has done is throw a fit, whine and scream no. I'm convinced that they want to crash the economy so they can use it in '12. Tax increases need to be part of the deal, taxes are lower now than they were under Reagan but there are still no jobs so the talking point that low taxes = more jobs is bogus. I am sick of this, I have never see anything like this from a political party before, nothing is every going to get done if the GOP keeps moving the goalpost.

BTW do you have link to Obama's proposal? Just asking............

Re: correct me if Im wrong...

If we could eliminate every Federal program that smacks in the face of States' rights, we could payoff the debt very quickly.
