Sorry if I cam on too strong. That wasn't my intent.
Even if you're alone, his harming or killing you is still going to have a profound impact on your family. One could easily argue that you're still protecting them, even if it's not from physical injury.
I agree that killing someone would be very very hard to deal with. Killing them inside your home would only make it worse. If the miscreant continued attempting to gain entry even after he knows he's been seen (as was apparently the case), he is not likely to back down after he gets inside.

Re: Teen robber killed by homeowner in Ft Worth
Without a doubt I would! Why would I wait for him to get inside the house where he has a better chance of harming me or my family?Scott in Houston wrote:I will comment though...
Would you guys have shot through the glass?
I don't think I would have. I wasn't there, thank God, but my guess is... had I been in this situation, I would have gone to another room and called the cops. I would have camped out in that room until
A) this guys is in there with me, at which time he would have been shot
B) the cops show up and nab him
If I open a blind and someone is working on opening that window, I just don't think I'd shoot through the glass at him.
This home owner is well within his rights to do so, but I'm just sayin'... would you have done that?
I don't see where the homeowner did anything wrong, legally or morally.
