If price IS the issue, that's one thing.
For reliability, quality and accuracy, here's another vote for the HK USP .40 full size. The variant 1 allows you to carry SA or DA. ie you can carry it in condition one "cocked and locked" (like the 1911) or after chambering a round decock and you are in double action mode. The decocker/safety is in the same postion as on the 1911, and is very user friendly. Magazine capacity is 13 plus one in the chamber.
Whatever you decide, go with a quality gun that you can depend on as well as put a lot of rounds through it at the range without having to worry about anything.
