Sounds like you did alright. The hi-power has an excellent reputation for a reason. I think the 1911 still beats it because, hey, I like .45, but there is no question that the hi-power is a very capable, reliable pistol. The trigger can be improved. Before you go sending it off for a trigger job (an...

No new AR's would be sold - anything you already have would be "pre-ban".
I've heard tell of a ban that would be retroactive. Whether or not something like that would survive judicial scruitiny, I don't know.

The Springer's hammer is a S80 already. They seem to go back and forth between the S70 and S80 hammers, even going so far as to create a hybrid hammer with a quarter-cock shelf and a half-cock notch. All S80 parts, that will actually fit, will retrofit all previous models. Oh, and another thing: Are...

There are two kinds of people: those who love hi-point (and own one) and those who hate hi-point (and have never owned one). Aside from them being ugly as homemade soap, heavy enough to anchor a battleship, and as "ergonomic" as a cinder block, they're fine guns. For some reason, people th...

Are the uppers interchangeable? Short answer: no. Long answer: yes. A government-length slide on a shortie frame wouldn't work. Ok, it might work with a FLGR, but you'd still have one heck of a gap from the short dust cover. A commander slide on an officer's frame has been done, although I think it...

Taurus looks to have changed the shape of the Series 80 parts enough to claim that it's not Series 80
Is it a redesign of the S80, or is it a Swartz? I've seen more manufacturers adopt the Swartz system lately since the market seems to want FP blocking safeties.

Because of that you are mainly stuck with same grips and same mainspring. Not really. Bobtail MSHes use an officer's model mainspring which comes in six different weights from Wolff. You can also modify or order grips for a bobtail. Your selection of parts specific to a bobtail would be a heck of a...

Make sure the old bushings aren't staked in before attempting to remove them or you'll be tapping new threads and installing oversize bushings. I prefer red locktite (the #272 red, IIRC) for keeping new ones in place.

I didnt know about the 'fatboy' wranglers. Check Target. I found 3 pairs on the clearance rack for $10 apiece. They're Wrangler Five Star Relaxed Fit. DaveT, yeah, "fatboy" refers to "relaxed fit." Since they're measured from the hip, they have a higher, looser rise, so you can ...

I went up one size (2"). I wore my gun into the dressing room and then tried on the new pants. It is intended as a private place and there were no 30.06 signs, so I wasn't worried about taking my weapon out. I tried them on with the holster the first time. I like "fatboy" pants the be...

If anybody ends up getting one, please let me know. I'd like about 20 minutes with it and a measuring caliper.

I would wait awhile on a Taurus. I have heard reports of funky barrel lugs that are weird enough to make me seriously wonder about their longevity. I'd rather wait and see a few more examples before deciding.

sebis, have a look at this chart here for a size comparison. I've never shot one, but I did handle one. It's a tiny gun for 9mm. It seemed a little small to be controllable, especially for that cartridge, but like I said, I haven't shot one.
