Re: Happy Bday Carbine

That's a nice looking rifle, looks like it's in really good shape. When you said "carbine" I was expecting to see pictures of an AR. M1 carbines just look classy.

Re: public restrooms and going #2

Put buckle on last hole, hold top of pants in place at knee level by spreading knees apart. Not "comfortable" or "relaxing", but it works pretty well. I read somewhere that this is how Massad Ayoob does it. Additionally, I think that letting any part of your clothing lay on the f...

Re: Best guy to buy with mad money?

I think the best move would be to buy several thousands of rounds of ammo for the guns you already have.

However, that's not a very exciting answer, so I would buy a high-end titanium-framed 1911.

Re: Please help me interpret my workplace policy

I'm pretty sure I'm okay to carry at work, but I want to run the wording of the company policy about weapons by you guys. Among the list of things that will get you immediately terminated is this: "Possession of firearms, explosives, or any lethal weapon on company property, NOT in accordance ...

Re: Bureaucratic Trivia -- Disposal of Expired CHL?

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I don't want everyone to have to go over the same information again, either. Actually, I'm going to be discussing a "modified" license, not an expired one. I recently moved and had my address changed on my CHL. After reading the advice in this thread,...

Kudos for Midwesthuntersoutlet.com

A few days ago I decided to purchase some 12 gauge dummy rounds for reloading training. I finally decided on the Fiocchi brand. I placed an order through midwesthuntersoutlet.com because they had the best price. Before I confirmed my order, I noticed that they had added a $5.00 "ammo hazmat sur...

Re: My Normal Everyday carry gun failed.

Well, if it had to happen, I guess you can thank your lucky stars it happened on the range and not in a more intense setting.
This goes to show that you should always be prepared to transition to kung fu.

Re: Public opinion of SD shootings.

Say you're carrying the ultra-popular .380 LCP, like so many Americans are. If some huge dude is charging at you, are you going to shoot him in the legs to stop him? You could empty a magazine into his chest and it might not stop him.
And, no, I'm not bashing the LCP. I carry one sometimes.

Re: LF Cheap 1st rifle

Yeah, I would save up and buy a .22lr. a 10/22 ($200-ish) would be a safe bet, and it will last forever. Or for a little less ($140-ish) you could get a Mossberg Plinkster. Or this Savage ($120). Why a .22? Because, off the top of my head: A) Ammo is wayyyy cheaper, even compared to surplus centerfi...

Make sure you check your receipts - I just bought some of the Monarch brass-cased .223 on page 12 and they charged me $9.99 a box instead of the advertised $7.99. I caught it once I got to my car, and they fixed it, no problem.

I am generally not a 1911 guy, but when I saw a picture of the Christensen Arms 1911 Classic, I thought about selling my car so I could buy this gun, and just walk everywhere from now on. http://i55.tinypic.com/29malbo.jpg http://www.christensenarms.com/handgun-pistol" onclick="window.open...

Re: The problem with gun shows...

Nice shotgun! I've actually purchased two firearms at gun shows, but doubt I'll ever do it again. - Charging the credit card fee violates the agreements most of them signed with the credit card processor. If reported, they could actually lose their ability to accept credit cards. Sure, they lose a ...

What the Technical Design Plan is What is that? I knew the rest, but that one was not one I'm familiar with. (just bought my first AR a week ago... but have been reading and studying for a month or more) It's also (and more commonly) known as the technical data package - the original specs and requ...
